A four week informal consultation is running until 11th February 2021 for the public to comment on draft proposals for the expansion of the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.
Although the proposed additional 116 wind turbines will be located offshore, the underground cable to connect the generated power to the National Grid will run from landfall at Climping and across the South Downs to Bolney. Three potential sites for a new 4.5 hectare (11 acre) substation needed for the project have been identified in Bolney, Twineham and Cowfold.
