CiLCA (Certificate in Local Council Administration)
On 26th February I attended a CiLCA fast track training in Haselmere. This course follows on from the Working with your Council course I did last year, however on completion of CiLCA I will be a qualified clerk.
Having a qualified clerk is one of the criteria required for the Council to become a Quality Council and also for the future availability of the Power of Wellbeing.
I have now started work on the portfolio that I have to produce and submit for marking. I havent yet registered to take the course but this doesnt stop me getting on with the work. Once registered you then have 2 years to complete the course but I anticipate registering in the next month or so and actually completing the course in six months if possible.
The work that has been done in the last year to introduce policies such as Freedom of Information, the Complaints procedure and a policy for grant applications all form part of the course so this has given me a head start.
