Bolney Village Society
I have received a letter from Janet Waite, Secretary of the Village Society.
Many thanks for your cheque for £249.50 being a grant from the Parish Council to the Village Society in respect of the rental of Batchelors Field and the Pavilion on Village Day.
The Society much appreciates the Councils support in this way.
Concessionary Bus/Rail Passes
Elizabeth Lancaster will be coming to the next Open Doors session at 10am on 23rd June to hand over the paperwork for issuing concessionary bus and rail passes.
The process is straightforward and it would help if as many Councillors as possible can attend on that day to see the process involved.
Damage to Bus Stop on the London Road
On 8th June a parishioner reported some damage to slats at the bus stop. I have asked Peter Hopgood to provide a quotation to repair the damage.
Annual Accounts
In accordance with the statutory requirement for all councils to provide electors with the opportunity to inspect the Annual Return and supporting documentation, a notice has now been placed in the Parish Council notice boards advised that they can be viewed between 1st and 28th July 2010.
New Councillors
A notice of the two vacancies in the Parish Council was placed in the Parish Notice boards and on the website on 8th June. Unless 10 electors write to John Jory requesting an election by 28th June then we will be able to co-op new Councillors after that date.
I have issued an article to Margaret Burgess to be put in the next issue of the Parish Magazine. The article gives information about what a Councillor does and asked if anyone is interested in working for the community as a councillor to get in touch with me. It doesnt actually advertise the vacancies as we cant do this until after 28th June.
